COVID-19 Respiratory Clinic

Currently only patients that either have symptoms or are a close contact can be tested for COVID-19 at the practice. Appointments can be made online, you can call or walk-in during our operating hours of 8am to 5pm. DO NOT ENTER the medical centre. Please ensure you wear a mask and socially distance. Results can take up to 48 hours and you will receive a text message from pathology as soon as your results have been processed. All patients who test positive will be contacted by one of our Doctors to assist with your care. If you test positive at our clinic and would like a Telehealth consultation with a doctor at any time during your isolation, please call (02) 4800 9032.

 

Our COVID Respiratory Clinic is run in conjunction with the Federal Government and is open 7 days per week, 8am to 5pm.

What services do you provide?

We Assess, Test and Diagnose Covid-19, Influenza and other Respiratory Conditions.

Where is the COVID clinic?

The clinic is located in the underneath carpark at Mittagong Healthcare Centre, 58 Bowral Road Mittagong, directly opposite McDonalds.

It is important that you do not enter the practice if you are presenting for a COVID test.

You will then see a large red ‘Respiratory Clinic’ sign.

Please wear a mask otherwise a mark will be provided to you.

Please make yourself known to a staff member on duty who is in full PPE. They will then provide further directions regarding where to line up whilst socially distancing from others.

Can you COVID test for overseas travelers?

No, we are unable to test patients who require a COVID test for overseas travel.

Do you have a doctor on duty?

Yes, we have a doctor on duty at our respiratory clinic.

What happens if I have tested positive for COVID-19?

You will receive a text message directly from pathology and a phone call from one of our Doctors. A doctor will then call you during your isolation period to regularly check on every positive patient.

What happens if I have tested positive at a different clinic – can one of your Doctors call me?

Unfortunately due to the volume of positive patients being supported by our doctors who have been tested through the respiratory clinic, we are unable to provide support to any further patients who have been tested elsewhere. This will take effect as of 6th January 2022.

How long does it take to get my result?

Pathology will text you your result as soon as it has been processed. This varies but is usually within 72 hours (or longer during peak periods).

Does testing cost anything?

This is a free clinic set up with the assistance of The Federal Government and the local Primary Health Network.

Can I fill in the documentation needed for a COVID test before arriving?

Yes, an electronic form can be completed via here. Otherwise, the necessary form will be provided when you present to the clinic.

Do I need to book an appointment?

It is recommended to book an appointment online via here. Patients who have a booking are seen first.

If I get vaccinated, I will not need a COVID test if I get COVID symptoms?

If you have any COVID symptoms you must get tested, regardless of whether you are vaccinated or not.

Do I need to stay in isolation until I get my PCR result?

Yes, you must stay in isolation until you receive a negative PCR result. If you are positive, a doctor will call and discuss with the most up to date health advice regarding isolation requirements.
